Features

The TIMEMORE Icicle Cold Brewer is a 600 ml immersion cold brew maker in frosted borosilicate glass. Its lid is designed for effortless pouring — rotate it and pour at any angle, without taking the lid off.

  • Detachable filter base: the base of the internal filter tube screws off, so you can open the bottom, tip the spent grounds straight out and rinse the tube through — no digging the puck out from the top. This is a recent upgrade to the Icicle; earlier production had a fixed filter bottom.
  • Leakproof lid: store it in any corner of the fridge without spills or leaks (not freezer-safe).
  • Efficient brewing: a full 600 ml takes as little as 30 g of coffee — about a 1:20 ratio — far less than most immersion methods.
  • Extended internal filter: a 22.5 cm, 300-mesh food-grade PP strainer keeps the grounds evenly soaked for a consistently smooth cup.

A stylish cold brew bottle

The frosted texture is quite beautiful, and the ice cone shape is very stylish. It feels like the cold brew coffee tastes even better.

I like the brand timemore

The bottle feels good, the material is nice, and the cold brew made with it lasts just right for two days.

FAQ

What is the TIMEMORE Icicle Cold Brewer and how does it work?

The TIMEMORE Icicle is a 600ml immersion (full-immersion steep) cold brew coffee maker made by TIMEMORE. You add coarse ground coffee to the internal filter, fill with cold water to one of the embossed marks, and steep in the fridge overnight. Because grounds sit fully submerged the whole time, extraction is even and no drip equipment or electricity is needed.

How much coffee do I use, and what coffee-to-water ratio is that?

TIMEMORE's guidance is as little as 30g of coffee for the full 600ml, which works out to about a 1:20 coffee-to-water ratio. The brewer has embossed fill lines at 300ml, 400ml and 500ml, so you can scale down or brew a stronger concentrate by keeping the coffee the same and lowering the water.

How long do I steep it, and what grind size should I use?

TIMEMORE recommends brewing in the fridge overnight (longer for a stronger result); the brand does not publish an exact hour figure. Use a coarse grind (medium-coarse is acceptable) — the same grind you would use for French press — so the 300-mesh filter strains cleanly and the cup stays free of sediment.

What is the filter made of, and how do you clean it?

The strainer is a food-grade PP (polypropylene) 300-mesh filter, not a stainless steel mesh — the stainless steel on this brewer is the top cap. The base of the filter tube screws off, so you can open the bottom, tip the spent coffee grounds straight out and rinse the tube through, rather than digging the puck out from the top. Per retailer guidance, all accessories except the main glass body can go in the dishwasher; the borosilicate body is best hand-washed.

How many servings does one batch make?

A full 600ml batch is roughly two servings drunk neat, or more when poured over ice and diluted (serving count is an estimate, not a TIMEMORE-stated figure). Cold brew concentrate can also be cut with water or milk to taste using the fill-mark ratios.

Is it leakproof, and can I store it in the fridge?

Yes. The rotating lid is designed to be leakproof so the brewer can lie in any corner of the fridge without spills — you rotate the lid to pour at any angle without removing it. It is designed for fridge storage; freezing is not recommended.

What is it made of, and how big and heavy is it?

The body is frosted borosilicate glass with a #304 stainless steel top cap, a PP filter and lid parts, and a silicone seal. It stands 260 mm tall and tapers from an 80 mm base to a 54 mm top, and it weighs about 370 g. It holds 600 ml and uses a 22.5 cm internal filter.

How does the Icicle compare to other immersion cold brewers like the Hario Mizudashi?

The Icicle and the Hario Mizudashi are both fridge immersion cold brewers with a fine internal filter. The Icicle differentiates with a rotating pour-through lid (pour without removing the lid) and a frosted borosilicate design, at 600ml capacity. Both rely on a fine mesh rather than paper, so both benefit from a coarse grind. Choose on capacity, filter feel, and design rather than on brewing method — the immersion process is the same.

How long does the finished cold brew keep?

As general cold-brew practice (not a TIMEMORE-published spec), refrigerated cold brew is commonly enjoyed within about 4 days of brewing for best flavor. Keep it sealed and cold, and taste before serving.

Does the TIMEMORE Icicle have a removable filter, and how do you empty the coffee grounds?

Yes. The whole filter tube lifts out of the bottle, and its base screws off as well. To empty a batch: lift the tube out, unscrew the base, tip the spent grounds into the bin or compost, then rinse the tube through under running water. The detachable base is a recent upgrade — earlier production of the Icicle had a fixed filter bottom.
