Felicita Arc | Smart Bluetooth Espresso & Coffee Scale With Timer

The Felicita Arc is a Bluetooth espresso and pour-over coffee scale made by Felicita (Arc-Felicita Co., Limited) and sold in the UK by Kafava Coffee. It weighs to 0.1g up to 2000g, has a built-in timer with automatic tare and automatic timing modes, and uses an IPX5 water-resistant anodised aluminium body slim enough to sit on an espresso machine drip tray. It is a distinct model from the Felicita Parallel, Parallel Plus and Incline scales, which share the same Felicita app but have different bodies and feature sets.

It reads in 0.1g steps up to a 2000g (2kg) maximum — enough for a portafilter, a cup, or a full pour-over setup. Those two figures are manufacturer-stated and are repeated by every retailer listing. In independent testing, Tom's Guide (November 2024) found the Arc read about 0.5g differently from other scales in a side-by-side comparison, but was fully repeatable against itself: the same object weighed the same every time. A 100g calibration weight is supplied so you can recalibrate it yourself.

It is water-resistant, not submersible. The body carries an IPX5 rating, meaning it is tested against a low-pressure water jet — enough for splashes, drips and wiping up spilled espresso on a drip tray. It is not dishwasher safe and should not be immersed. IPX5 is the rating quoted in Tom's Guide's November 2024 review; some product copy states "IPX4-5", so treat IPX5 as the upper end of the claim.

The Arc uses a built-in rechargeable lithium battery rather than disposable cells. The product listing states 1100mAh and 30-40 hours of use; Tom's Guide's reviewer measured closer to 20 hours in practice, which at a few minutes of use per day is still roughly a year between charges. The scale also powers down automatically after about five minutes of standby. Kafava's current 2026 stock charges via USB-C; earlier production batches of the Arc used micro-USB, so very old units may differ.

No — the scale works fully standalone. The Bluetooth connection to the Felicita Coffee app (iOS and Android) is optional and adds brew-curve recording and sharing, sound and voice toggles, and live weight readout on your phone. Note that switching between grams and ounces appears to be done in the app rather than on the scale itself, which is worth knowing if you brew in ounces.

The Arc's differences are the IP-rated body and the automation. Most coffee scales in the tier below — for example the Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2 — offer a water-resistant surface without a published IP rating, a timer and often a flow-rate readout, at a considerably lower price. The Arc adds a formal IPX5 rating, an aluminium body, and automatic tare plus automatic start/stop timing for espresso. The honest trade-off is complexity: Tom's Guide's main criticism is that the function menu is confusing at first. Choose the Arc if you pull espresso daily on a wet drip tray and want hands-free timing; a simpler scale is enough if you only need weight and a manual timer.
