The TIMEMORE × Anthony Douglas FLOW is a self-leveling espresso tamper for 58.5mm baskets, designed by TIMEMORE with Anthony Douglas, TIMEMORE's technical consultant and the 2022 World Barista Champion. A wave spring behind a 69mm collar keeps the 58.5mm DLC-coated base level as you press, and a depth dial adjusts the tamping depth in 0.025mm steps. It comes in two grip sizes, Small and Large.

Self-leveling wave spring

A wave spring sits between the handle and the base under a 69mm collar. The auto-leveling architecture keeps the force vertical at 90° to the coffee bed so a slightly tilted hand does not translate into a tilted puck. The same spring spreads the force evenly across the base.

Adjustable depth dial

Turning the dial moves the base relative to the handle: 40 clicks per 360° rotation, 0.025mm per click and 1mm per full turn. Once you have set the depth for your basket and dose, the same setting repeats from shot to shot.

58.5mm DLC-coated base

The 58.5mm base is coated in DLC (diamond-like carbon), a hard, scratch-resistant finish. At 58.5mm it is sized to cover the full coffee bed in a 58mm portafilter basket. It is also engineered to release air as the tamper lifts, so the puck is not pulled up by a vacuum.

Two grip sizes

The handle is aluminium alloy with a silicone grip, in black with a gold spring. Small suits palms under 16cm (6 inches) and is 90.4mm tall and 445g; Large suits palms over 16cm and is 98.4mm tall and 475g. Both have the same 69mm collar and 58.5mm base, and each is a separate variant with its own barcode.
