Features

The TIMEMORE Fish Pro X is a 900ml electric gooseneck kettle for pour over coffee, made by TIMEMORE and sold here in the UK (Type G) version. It runs on tempX, TIMEMORE's sensor-and-algorithm heating platform: instead of switching a 1350W element on and off, it modulates power continuously, reaches temperature faster and holds the target within ±0.5°C. Set any temperature from 40°C to 98°C in 0.5°C steps on the Grooveboard touch panel, in Black or White.

tempX: continuous power instead of on/off cycling

A conventional variable-temperature kettle reaches its target by switching the element fully on and fully off, which is why the reading overshoots and then sags. The Fish Pro X reads water volume, voltage and ambient conditions in real time and modulates output continuously. TIMEMORE rates the result as 30% faster to temperature than a leading high-end competitor and 10% faster than the original Fish Pro, tested in its own lab with 600ml heated to 92°C, with roughly twice the adjustment precision and 50% tighter stability than the Fish Pro.

Hold within ±0.5°C

Set the target in 0.5°C increments and press Hold: the kettle keeps feeding steady power rather than waiting for the temperature to drop and firing again. TIMEMORE publishes a one-hour hold test at 90°C with 500ml. In practice this is what lets you brew a second batch on the same recipe without re-dialling.

Altitude-aware boiling and dry-boil protection

Water does not boil at 100°C everywhere — TIMEMORE's own example is 100°C at sea level (101.325 kPa) against about 96°C at 1,200m / 4,000ft (87.6 kPa). A fixed-target kettle keeps pushing power into water that is already boiling; the Fish Pro X detects the real local boiling point and stops there. Proactive dry-boil and low-water detection check the level before the element engages, and vents hidden beneath the lid route steam up and away from your fingers.

Grooveboard control panel

Grooveboard is the touch-slider panel on the kettle's collar. Slide to move quickly through the range, tap the + / − keys for half-degree adjustments, and use the dedicated key to jump straight to boil. An LED display shows the reading.

Pour control from 1 to 15 g/s

The patented gooseneck spout is tuned so flow follows how far you tip the kettle: TIMEMORE publishes about 1 g/s for a low-flow pour to a target weight, about 8 g/s for centre pours and agitation control, and about 15 g/s for quick filling or generating turbulence. One spout covers the bloom trickle and the full centre pour.

304 stainless interior and a wooden thumb rest

The interior is food-grade 304 stainless steel — corrosion-resistant, odour-free and chosen to keep water tasting neutral over years of daily use. The iconic cutaway handle carries a water-resistant wooden thumb rest: black walnut on the Black kettle, hard maple on the White one.

FAQ

What is the TIMEMORE Fish Pro X Electric Pour Over Kettle?

The TIMEMORE Fish Pro X is a 900ml electric gooseneck kettle made by TIMEMORE for pour over coffee, and the successor to the Fish Pro. It is built around tempX, TIMEMORE's sensor-and-algorithm heating platform. You set a target between 40°C and 98°C in half-degree steps on the Grooveboard touch panel and the kettle holds it within ±0.5°C while you brew. It draws 1350W and is sold here in the UK (Type G) version, in Black or White.

How is tempX different from an ordinary variable-temperature kettle?

tempX is TIMEMORE's name for continuously modulated heating. An ordinary variable-temperature kettle switches its element fully on and fully off, so the reading overshoots the setpoint and then falls away before the element fires again. tempX instead calculates how much power the current volume of water needs and adjusts output in real time. TIMEMORE states this reaches the target 30% faster than a leading high-end competitor and 10% faster than the Fish Pro, measured in its own lab with 600ml heated to 92°C, and holds within ±0.5°C afterwards.

What temperatures can it be set to, and can it boil?

The settable range is 40°C to 98°C in 0.5°C increments (manufacturer-rated). Boiling is a separate one-press shortcut on the Grooveboard panel: rather than heating to a fixed 100°C, the kettle works out the boiling point for your altitude and air pressure and stops there. TIMEMORE's own example is 100°C at sea level against roughly 96°C at 1,200m. So if you want a specific number above 98°C, this kettle will not give you one — it gives you a clean boil instead.

How fast does the water actually pour?

Flow follows how far you tip the kettle rather than a setting. TIMEMORE publishes three reference points for the patented gooseneck spout: about 1 g/s for a low-flow pour to a target weight, about 8 g/s for centre pours, and about 15 g/s for fast filling or generating turbulence. Note that some retailers quote a 28 g/s maximum for this spout; that figure does not appear in TIMEMORE's own published flow chart, which tops out around 16 g/s.

What is the difference between the Black and White versions?

Only the finish and the wood on the thumb rest. TIMEMORE specifies black walnut on the Black kettle and hard maple on the White one. Capacity, 1350W power, temperature range, tempX control, safety features and dimensions are identical across both colours.

Will it work on UK mains, and is an adapter included?

This is the UK version, supplied for 220–240V with a Type G (three-pin) plug, so it plugs straight into a UK socket. No travel adapter or alternative plug is included, and the kettle is not dual-voltage, so it is not intended for use on other mains standards.

Is it safe to leave it heating, and what happens if it runs dry?

TIMEMORE builds in dry-boil protection and low-water detection that check the water level before the element engages, and steam vents under the lid that direct vapour away from your hand. Those sensors protect the appliance; like any electric kettle it is still intended to be used while you are present, not left unattended.

Is there a left-handed model?

TIMEMORE shows both left- and right-handed handle geometries in its Fish Pro X materials but marks the left-handed version as pending availability. The kettle sold here is the standard model. If handle orientation matters to you, check before ordering rather than assuming a choice exists.

How big is it, and how much does it weigh?

TIMEMORE publishes the kettle at 171 × 128 × 266mm and the power base at 166 × 152 × 30mm, with a weight of approximately 1.1kg. TIMEMORE does not label which figure corresponds to which axis, so if you are fitting it under a shelf or into a fixed slot, allow for roughly 27cm in the longest direction including the gooseneck spout.

What warranty does it carry?

The Fish Pro X is covered by TIMEMORE's limited manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, extended to the original purchaser on production of proof of purchase. TIMEMORE's published terms exclude normal wear of parts, misuse, use contrary to the operating instructions, and repair or alteration by anyone other than a TIMEMORE representative. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer apply in addition.
