The TIMEMORE Autospin is a battery-powered automatic WDT tool for espresso puck preparation, made by TIMEMORE. Twelve 0.3mm needles reach 22mm into the grounds and travel a fixed orbit that reverses direction, replacing the hand-stirred distribution step. It starts when it touches the portafilter and stops when you lift it, with no buttons. It fits 58mm straight-walled baskets only.

Why automate WDT

Stirring by hand depends on your speed and depth: stir too fast and the grounds are thrown towards the edges, stir too shallow and pockets of clumps stay below. The Autospin turns that step into a repeatable mechanical motion, so the same pass runs every time you prepare a puck.

12 needles on a bidirectional orbit

Twelve ultra-fine needles, each 0.3mm thick, sit on a planetary arm and sweep the coffee bed along a fixed path, alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise. The needles reach a depth of 22mm. The reversing motion keeps grounds from building up at the edge of the basket, which a single-direction spin can cause.

Starts and stops on contact

There is no power button to press. Set the Autospin onto the portafilter and it starts spinning; lift it off and it stops. A small LED shows its state: white when it is on or charged, orange while charging, and off when it is powered down.

Four-point support for 58mm baskets

Four legs on a wide chassis rest on the rim of the portafilter and centre the tool over a 58mm basket, so the needles stay in the middle of the puck. The top is open, so you can see the coffee bed as the needles move through it. Only 58mm straight-walled baskets are supported: curved-walled baskets and 3-lug portafilters are not compatible.

Rechargeable, built for long service

A 500mAh lithium battery drives a 5V DC motor and is rated for more than 2,000 preparation cycles per charge. It recharges in about 1.5 hours over USB-C; if it is not in regular use, charge it about every three months. A USB-C charging cable is not included.

Materials and finishes

The body combines stainless steel, aluminium alloy, food-grade ABS and silicone, and it measures 81 × 81 × 79.5mm and weighs about 180g. It comes in Black and Silver, each a separate variant with its own barcode, and six spare needles are supplied in the box.
