Features

The MAVO Lumicurve Coffee Scale is a rechargeable digital coffee scale with a built-in timer, made by MAVO. Its round 1.46-inch colour screen auto-rotates through 360° and shows weight, time, flow rate and brew ratio at once, then draws the brew curve on the scale itself — no phone needed. It weighs 0.1–2000g at 0.1g or 0.3g, has five brewing modes with cup- or drip-triggered timing, and is 17.5mm thin.

A screen that turns to face you

A built-in gravity sensor rotates the display to match the scale's orientation, so the same scale reads correctly lying lengthways under a dripper or turned sideways to fit a narrow espresso drip tray. There is no need to reposition the scale, or keep a second one, just to read it.

Four numbers at once, and the curve afterwards

The HD TFT colour screen shows weight, elapsed time, flow rate in g/s and coffee-to-water ratio together, and a long press switches between three display layouts. When a brew finishes, the scale draws its extraction curve on the screen, and you can review and compare up to three recent brews to repeat the one you liked. To share a curve, simply photograph the screen.

Five modes, each with its own trigger

Basic — weight, flow rate and a timer for everyday weighing, French press or AeroPress
Pour Over — records your dose, starts timing when you begin pouring, and shows ratio, flow rate and time
Pour Over Smart End — the same, with an optional automatic finish when the cup is lifted off (set in settings)
Espresso — Cup-Start tares and starts the timer when the cup goes down; Drip-Start waits for the first drip; the shot ends when flow stops for 2 seconds or the cup is lifted
Continuous Shot — skips the weighing step for pulling shots back to back

Built for a wet brew bar

The housing is aluminium alloy with a glass lens, and both body and display are rated IPX3 for water resistance, and the scale is tested against the heat, humidity and steam of espresso setups. Two heat-resistant silicone pads — one for pour-over, one for espresso — protect it from hot drippers and portafilters, and auto shut-off can be set from 30 to 600 seconds or turned off.

Slim enough for a drip tray, small enough for a bag

The body is 17.5mm thin, 79.6mm wide and weighs 275g, so it fits on most espresso drip trays and slides into the supplied zip case for the office or a trip. The 1000mAh battery runs for about 16 hours of continuous use and charges over USB-C. The Lumicurve has won a MUSE Design Award, an A' Design Award (Bronze, 2026) and a Red Dot award (2026).

FAQ

What is the MAVO Lumicurve Coffee Scale?

The MAVO Lumicurve is a rechargeable digital coffee scale with a built-in timer, made by MAVO. It weighs from 0.1g to 2000g at a selectable 0.1g or 0.3g resolution, and its round 1.46-inch colour screen shows weight, time, flow rate and brew ratio at once. Two things set it apart: the screen auto-rotates 360° to face you, and the scale draws and stores brew curves on the device itself, without an app.

Does the Lumicurve work for both espresso and pour-over?

Yes. It has dedicated Pour Over and Espresso modes, a Smart End pour-over mode and a Continuous Shot mode for back-to-back espresso. At 79.6mm wide and 17.5mm thin it fits on most espresso drip trays, and it ships with two silicone pads — one for pour-over, one for espresso. Because the screen rotates, it stays readable whether the scale sits lengthways or sideways.

How does the auto-start timer work?

In Pour Over mode the scale records your dose and starts timing when you begin pouring. In Espresso mode you choose Cup-Start, which tares and starts the timer as soon as the cup is placed, or Drip-Start, which tares on the cup and waits for the first drip of coffee. An espresso shot ends automatically when flow stops for 2 seconds or the cup is lifted. Basic mode keeps a manual timer for anything else.

Can I see and compare my previous brews?

Yes. When a brew finishes, the Lumicurve draws its weight and flow curve on the screen, and you can review and compare up to three recent brews on the scale. To share a curve, take a photo of the screen.

Does the MAVO Lumicurve need an app or Bluetooth?

No. Every reading and brew curve is shown on the scale's own screen, so no phone is needed.

How long does the battery last?

The built-in 1000mAh battery gives about 16 hours of continuous use. It charges over USB-C, reaching 90% in about 50 minutes and a full charge in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Auto shut-off can be set from 30 to 600 seconds, or disabled, to stretch time between charges.

Is the MAVO Lumicurve waterproof?

It is water-resistant, not waterproof. The body and display are rated IPX3, which covers spraying water and splashes, and the scale is tested against the steam and heat of espresso setups. Wipe it clean rather than rinsing it under the tap, and keep a silicone pad on when placing hot drippers or portafilters on it.

What is the maximum weight the Lumicurve can take?

2000g (4.41lb). That covers a V60, Chemex or espresso cup with room to spare, but not a heavy batch brewer or a full large kettle placed on the platform. Resolution is 0.1g or 0.3g, selectable on the scale.

What comes in the box?

The scale, a pour-over silicone pad, an espresso silicone pad, a 100g calibration weight, a tempered glass screen protector, a USB-C charging cable and a zip carrying case. There is no wall adapter; any USB-C charger, power bank or laptop port will charge it.

How big is the MAVO Lumicurve?

The scale body measures 163 × 79.6mm and is 17.5mm thin; with the silicone pad fitted it is 85mm wide and 20.5mm thick (hand-measured, ±2mm). It weighs 275g, or about 310g with the pad.
