XL AeroPress Travel Coffee Maker
The AeroPress XL is the AeroPress, doubled. Same patented brew method as the standard AeroPress, but with a 20oz / 592ml capacity that's enough to fill two mugs or one large carafe. Includes the brewer, a shatterproof Tritan carafe, 100 paper filters, a stirrer, and a scoop.
How to brew with the AeroPress XL
- Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse with hot water to remove any paper taste.
- Add 30 to 34g of medium-fine ground coffee to the chamber.
- Pour 440 to 480ml of hot water (93 to 96°C) over the grounds.
- Stir gently for 10 seconds.
- Insert the plunger and press down slowly. Aim for 30 to 60 seconds of total press time.
What grind to use
Medium-fine, the same as the standard AeroPress. Sits between drip grind and espresso grind. Our ground coffee (ground for cafetière) works in an XL.

Compatibility note
Standard AeroPress components are not interchangeable with the XL. Different chamber, different plunger, different filters. Stock the right kit for whichever press you own.
Best coffee for the XL
The XL handles bigger batches, so we tend to reach for a daily-driver blend rather than a single origin. Two suggestions:
- Battle Prep: Brazil and Latin America blend, balanced, chocolatey. Holds up to milk and dilution if you're filling the carafe and pouring multiple cups.
- Red On: single-origin Robusta from the Badra Estate, 1,293mg caffeine per 12fl oz. Bigger volume of Red On means more caffeine in the carafe, so pace yourself.
